Nigeria Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Recruitment 2017 On www.nscdc.gov.ng

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (shoot) has concluded plans to recruit an additional 3,500 workers in 2017.

According to the Commander General of the shoot, Mr. Abdullahi Gana, who said while presenting the budget 2017 of the Commission, and recruitment is to enable the Corps to meet the demands of some MDA.

It should be noted that the shoot is para-military agency of the federal government that have been ordered to provide the levels of threat and any form of attack or disaster and the people and the citizenry. The Corps is empowered by law not the law No. 2 of 2003 and amended by Act 6 of 4th June 2007.

Mr. Gana said the recruitment will cost N2 billion, and urged the House of reps Interior Committee, should the account group.

The Corps is empowered to institute legal proceedings by or in then and of the Attorney General of the Federation in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria against any person or persons suspected to have committed an offence, maintain an armed squad in order to bear fire arms among others to strengthen the corps in the discharge of its statutory duties

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps was first introduced in May 1967 during Nigeria’s civil war in the then Federal Capital Territory of Lagos phone for the purpose of protection of the public. It was then known as Lagos Civil Defense Committee.

It later metamorphosed into the present day Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in 1970.
